a opportunity to help others
The Senior Living 911 story began in 2022 around a campfire celebrating Marshall's 50th birthday with family friends. Both families had recently tried to help their parents find a suitable long term care facility without success. Ironically, Marshall's friend, and soon to be business partner, struggled as well to get timely help for her mother-in-law despite 20 years of experience in senior living administration.
anything worth doing requires sacrifice
Marshall and his family friends knew that there had to be a better way to help families when their loved one could no longer live safely alone. Marshall took a leap of faith and resigned his 24 year marketing career to become the managing partner of a new company. His family friend became co-owner and encouraged the endeavor with steady optimism, business acumen and shared resources. They started a Senior Living Referral Agency in Eugene, Oregon on December 17th, 2022 and named it Senior Living 911.

what inspires marshall
Marshall's mother (Elly) is pictured with Marshall above. Elly inspired Marshall to take this leap of faith into the senior living industry. She lived in various residential care communities in Corvallis before ultimately moving closer to Marshall in Junction City as a resident at Avamere skilled nursing. His Grandmother, Mildred, also needed long term care and lived with a wonderful family in Lebanon, in their adult foster home. Both of these experiences were formative in Marshall's growth and compassion for our elders that need safe and fulfilling long term care. As his Grandmother would remind him; "Getting old ain't for sissies".
